FAQs

Here Matthew Davies explains his approach in more detail.

Could you tell me a little bit more about your approach?

The courses I have designed and deliver stand out because they confront any apprehension issues as well as the application. Through my years as a Coach I have concluded that, under the spotlight, the ‘application’ tools are not enough to adequently dismiss any ‘apprehension’ issues. I have spent several years researching, designing and delivering courses which focus on helping clients to boost confidence in the areas of public speaking and presentation skills training. Basically…

Application - Understanding the processes to prepare and perform when public speaking or making a presentation.

Clients are guided through a comprehensive workbook that shows them a clear, user friendly way to achieve their goals. The courses are practical. Clients don’t just sit and talk; they do stuff like reworking content with a great new and dynamic presentation structure. For those looking to improve their public speaking skills, clients are given voice coaching and they practice delivery. Our courses have been honed by the feedback of our past clients, so you’ll know you’re getting a relevant and resilient solution to your needs.

Apprehension – The concerns arising from the prospect of conducting yourself in front of others

People have many fears regarding public speaking and using evidence based, scientifically tested methodologies from academic, clinical and corporate research, I’ve devised a 6 point plan that really helps clients work through those issues.

It’s conventional motivational coaching. We take your issues very seriously and have probably dealt with similar scenarios from previous clients. The coaching is conducted with a light and whole heart, (fear hates fun!) there’s no blame or bullying. We talk through your concerns and give you practical strategies to try out in the ‘real world’. The coaching is solution focussed. I see my clients as an equal partnership, they have rich experience and are not stupid, just a bit stuck and together we work things through.

The best way to understand what and how I practise is to see where I’m aiming for. My definition of confidence is ‘a gentle self assuredness’. I look to bring out the qualities you already have, that are stifled for one reason or another to develop a genuine and resilient confidence.

Who are your clients?

I work with adults, usually professionals. They come from alsorts of industries from nutrition, the financial sector, marketing, telecommunications, oil and gas and higher education.
